The Old Folks Home

It was -9 here this morning when I got up. Funny since they said the low was going to be 6. 32° would be too much like spring.

We got around 6-6.5 inches of snow here over the weekend. At least not the 15 they were predicting.

Weather guesser...the only profession where they get paid big money to be wrong half the time.

We has a nice peach orchard in TN that really had bumper crop the first year they bloomed. That was the last crop. After that we got a hard freeze every single year while they were in bloom. It will be another year before we see any real bloom here on peaches but I'm hoping for better at this lower elevation.
We are heading into a dry period. Hopefully the Peaches will not get fooled and bloom-- then get hit with rain that keeps the bees away.

We have a Nectarine tree. It had a good set last year. Since it is a young tree, I had to prune some branches to get it back to shape for this year. I also use a copper spray for leaf curl.

We also have a Pomegranate tree and an Avocado tree. Last year was the first year with fruit on the pomegranate tree.
