Good morning old folks, Despite cold, blustery, deep snow, whatever you may be experiencing, make a good day - happy Wednesday. If you're snowed in, enjoy the peaceful, quiet moments, this too shall pass.

It is hard when it snows in places that don't get snow often.

Road crews do not have enough snow ploughs or stocked up salt for keeping the roads clear!

Not a single chicken was brave enough to come out of their coop today. When I opened the coop doors they all went to the back wall.

We have turned the corner on the deep freeze. It's 15F now, and the single digits are done. Well, might have a nighttime low coming up that cold, but the days will be in the 20s.

Back to having fires in the wood stove and being toasty warm tomorrow.

But I'm still going to bake something, I think.

Last night's low of 13° was a record low for us here in AL. Going to break that record again tonight at 12° they say and to add insult to injury they say more snow. My girls would like to peck their eyes out. They don't like missing play time out of their coops 3 days in a row.

The all time record low for these parts before we moved here was 0°. Don't need to see that. Got my fill of those temps for over a month every night out in NW MO.
