The Old Folks Home

It's dark and all the kids are on their roosts. I know they are not happy as they didn't get to get out and free range some today as usual. They all have way oversized coops so they are fine. When rain is an all day long event they need to appreciate the fact that we paid a visit with treats and made sure they had feed and water. Heavier rains showing on our radar now and will soon be here if all happens as it shows now.

I had measles as a kid. Can't remember much about it. Probably was confined to bed. Seems like lots of kids got measles back then. Can't remember it being considered a deadly disease like it is today. I know mumps was kinda risky for male children.
Measles is and was deadly. It also caused a lot of blindness.

A co worker that has retired from my Department had a parent that was blind from Measles.

Polio is similar in the pain, death and suffering it caused.
