I grew up around pigs- Some of them can be pretty mean- A sow with pigs is nothing to tangle with. Also some of those boars get an attitude sometimes. Most pigs that are made into pets like dogs aren't mean, but they hurt if they step on your foot. Also pigs are mean drunks , but that's another story!!

Oh yeah pigs can be mean. My DH was in the field with other soldiers back in germany when they got charged by a female razorback. She chased them up a tree and wouldnt let them down. After an hour or so they shot her to get back down.

Pigs are wonderful if you have all the infastructure to keep them penned, safe, and happy. We had one that busted out the cement block wall of our barn. DH was a bit miffed, to say the least. We dropped it off at the butcher and rather than drive off he's muttering..."I want to watch this one go down."
The constant noises and screaming from the people and the pig are likely associated with a daily battle to keep the water and food dispensers from getting tossed and broken, cleaning a stall, and keeping the thing contained. If they don't have a well orgainzed and efficient setup they will constantly be battling with the hog.

That pig trotted off down the hill while the others rolled by at warp speed. DS was bruised and had the wind knocked out of him, but he was OK. He then had to endure the harrassment for a while from his platoon about watching out for falling pigs.

As for pigs, I love em! Gotta be careful bout them sometimes, but ours were all pretty gentle. Tina looks like a very good pig.
