Hopefully yours are all Hens!!!! The gal that I got my Black East Indies ducklings has a Hen that only has girl ducklings. The female determines the sex of them and she has followed all of the people that have bought them from her and we all got girls. My Mallard on the other hand has drakes. Out of around 35 eggs over the years, all were drakes except for 2. Just my luck, lol.

Why do some have a black spot on the head and tail though... They are all supposed to be WH of good lineage. Well. As long as they turn out happy and calm and provide eggs and pest control it's all good.

SIlver apple yards are supposed to be that colour when born. But then again when I hatched appleyards they came out mallard coloured so I give up on the whole genetic colouring thing

2 of the little ones had splayed legs so we did the band aid thing. I took them a while to get used to the setup but now they're walking much better. Man can these ducklings eat.

According to the lead astrophysicists ducks are the main source of black holes in the universe. In a not so far future they will swallow everything…

Two nights of frost, so that i have to move all the seedlings inside to make room on the patio for the pepper plants…

Same here... 24 C over the day yesterday, 8 today, 5 now, -3 forecast in the morning.

And they have to back up to poop so cute for the next 10 days then the poop becomes projectile over the edge of the brooder. On the walls, on each other on everthing. Then they get big enough to escape from the brooder and you find them running around in the kitchen in the night pooping pooping pooping.
