Make them a piece offer and build a bridge over their pond…They keep flooding my driveway. I have had a 20 year war with them.
Its flowing again now. It never usually dries up but with the state governments "enviromental flows" during the drought water that would normally come this way was sent straight to South Australias overflowing string of lakes. But yes floods should bring the fish and other swimming creatures back. If you don't know what an enviromental flow is, its because we are only place in the world to do it, and I do not reccomend. But heres some snippets of our creek. Thiught I had more pics of our beautiful old gumtrees but I don't.Once the floods start will the creek fill for a year? Or how long?
Do the platypus come back with the water or has it moved on?

Aren't beavers protected in the U.S.? - They sure are in Europe, where they almost went extinct due to »peace treaties« like your's…I have a peace treaty with them.
They move out or I blow them to pieces.

Yes, they are often described as a "keystone species". I think this is the doco I have used with students:No they are considered nuisance animals. Shouldn't be as they are foundation animals and create habitat for others. But then my beaver are on a creek a long way from my house. My neighbor trapped them all and killed them
