She keeps trying to sit on unfertilized eggs. I keep taking the eggs though. I’m in the Phoenix area of Arizona in the US; it’s not too late for ducklings, but it’s not ideal either. We are currently under an excessive heat warning. Last Saturday it was 117 F, today 109 so far, or between 43 and 47 C.

I'll trade some cold for some heat!

I have been watching as my handsome boy ( Mr Pickles) gains in popularity amongst the ladies here. For several weeks his happy to follow him everywhere girlfriends were the 3 youngest in my flock. Recently, 3 more girls that are from last years hatch have joined his Harem. And now, I’m seeing his mother and his aunty acorn have also become followers.
so, he has all the young ladies now in love with him- and only my old granny ducks still keep to themselves.
so interesting to watch the flock dynamics changing with the addition of this charming young man. He is really taking his job seriously and settling into his position as flock guardian. He makes sure everyone hides when he perceives danger about. He even gets all the ladies to stand right by the coop door just before bedtime- which has never happened before .

So far i have no complaints about that particular health-insurance. So far they have paid everything, even reimbursed the blood-pressure meter i bought myself at CVS. Yes health-insurance companies are for profit organizations, but not all are bad. - Don't get me started about the public health-care system in Germoney…

Mine are outside now and on Sand in a hard wired pet gazebo so they could not get ahold of anything unless it crawled in. There were flies in the pen but I don't think flies would cause anything like what I was seeing.

You sure that all keys for that lock at the door are accounted for?
Sunny Sunshine and her family still sleep on my patio and this night i heart a lot of quacks and rasps, interrupted by a thudd…
When i looked outside, they had managed to fly up to the table and pried the lid off the cat-food container.

This is just infuriating. Pushing the seasoned eggsperts out.. and probably will hire a youngin with little to no experience.

Not sure what their strategy is, they are throwing away all of the knowledgeable colleagues too. I have experienced something similar in the early 2000's when they "reduced" the whole shipping department and went from cardboard-boxes, containing CDs and books to online-documentation and downloads.
Looks to me like now they have set their minds to the "cloud".

Hey I can finally get online today for how long I have no idea. I am so very sorry about your job and heart condition Frank.
We are on day 10 of no power. Spotty cell service and I can get online usually 1x a day. Yesterday they recovered 9 bodies and that was just one day.
They are still searching it’s very heartbreaking.
I hope y’all are all doing well and your flocks.
I hope they can get your heart working right Frank.
One of these days I hope to be back for good.

We are on day 10 of no power. Spotty cell service and I can get online usually 1x a day. Yesterday they recovered 9 bodies and that was just one day.
They are still searching it’s very heartbreaking.

Thanks for the update! I worry so much about you, and every one else over there.
It just got really dark here as a thunder storm rolls in. I fed the birds early and brought the turkeys\\\ I mean GEESE in early much to their discontent. It's not going to be a long storm and hopefully the birdbrains will seek shelter within their coops. Didn't want to lock them all up three hours early though.

Hi!! love hearing from you. It is a terrible tragedy there and a miracle you are safe. I hope you can continue to get gas and other supplies as needed. My local church is bringing down some supplies. I hear they need more helpers to clean up Lord please send many hands.
i’m too old and fat to do much but we were able to donate a few things like candles and can openers. i hope they help someone.
