Anywhere with chickens

So I’ve been thinking about getting goats. I show chickens through 4-H and I want to try something new and I’ve settled on goats. I want to get a Pygmy pair and breed them so I can exibit and sell the babies in my local fair.
I want to try something like this house 69EE32AD-2462-45C0-93BE-18D011A85A42.jpeg but put a full plywood back on the pallets so they can be warmer and install a door of sorts. I live in northern Virginia so making sure they are warm is a priority. I want to make sure getting the goats, the house, and any supplies stays close to or under $1,500.

You may want to slope the roof so any rain or snow runs off the back. It may work for related goats. Some goats get along and share and others like to always be bashing and pushing each other around.

Goats also will chew wood. So expect that.

Goats do okay as long as they can get out of the wind, and off the ground, or at least have a thick bedding to lay in.

A buck will be a bit smelly, and you may want to remove him so you aren't having babies in January and February. Heats generally start in August and go through February, and gestation is 5 months. I've had them kid in January. I would not recommend it.

I had Nigerians and they thought rain was their mortal enemy.
