This chicken is not dead

It's from the Frizzle gene. Betty's would do that as well. They would start out mostly complete and then as the year went on, she would wind up with talons as they "wore out".

You can see her talons starting to come out at this point.

I'll start with Chippy. She was the master at playing dead and making my heart skip a beat.
