This is a new sound (as of today) my 18 week old pullet is making. Stress? Illness? Puberty?!

This pullet has had a stressful week- her two flock mates were moved to the adjacent run so that a new chicken could be introduced into her run/coop. She has also been on corid because another chicken in the flock had some potential signs of coccidiosis (no signs of blood in any droppings for her and everyone is doing very well now - it is day 5 of Corid treatment)

Her comb and wattles are growing larger and redder, so I am wondering if this noise is a sign she’s going to lay soon? Or if it could be a stress noise due to the newcomer? Or should I worry about illness?

The comb growing larger is just a sign of her maturing. The noise on the other hand does sound potentially concerning. Does she have any other symptoms?
She is eating and drinking and correcting her new flock mate like normal. She does sort of sound like she’s purring all the time. She’s only made the sound a few times- it seems fairly rare and all that just began today.

That sounds like she's starting to get a respiratory infection of some kind. I would separate her immediately. Is a vet an option for you?

Imma also tag @Eggcessive and @Wyorp Rock to get their input

A vet isn’t an option and I already have both my runs and my brooder box populated…the runs are joined by a wire fence separating them and there is already a new pullet in a dog crate in the run with this chicken. I am out of places for chickens!

Unfortunately a vet isn’t an option- what can I give her here at home? Is there anything I can give the whole flock to prevent further issues?

First, we need to figure out what you're dealing with. If it's bacterial it can be treated with antibiotics, if it's viral there might not be much you can do

Is there any white gunk in her beak or throat? Does she have any discharge around her eyes or nostrils? I would also get in touch with your state's poultry extension to see if they offer any kind of testing
