This looks like a lavender chick🤔

Could these also be the parents of the new chick in question?? I would say it is very unlikely that a BCM and EE are both carrying lavender. Will look for updated pics when it is fluffed up!
Not possible. Only combo options in that breeding pen are BCM rooster and BCM hens, Ameraucana hen, BC1OE hen. I have the egg it came from and the other egg in pics in original post 🙂

Oh gotcha, I looked at the pics but couldn’t really tell which eggs were which, and which egg the chick came out of! Did you see the chick hatch or was there any possibility it came out of a different egg. I realize if it came from the orp pen that it wouldn’t have feathered legs.

Yes I actually saw it hatch with my own eyes, which was why I was SO surprised, lol. We think we know what to expect and then we have THIS, haha!! I’ve had so many lavender, splash, and blue hatch now, I can’t tell who is who. 11 more chicks to hatch and then I can’t tell inspect a bit further. Ya feathered legs!! We’ll see!!

It’s very unlikely that that baby is lavender. I highly highly doubt the BCM and EE both carry that gene. If it came from that breeding pen, there’s no way it’s splash. It’s gotta be blue, and it’s gotta be the splash hen’s chick. That’s pretty much the only possibility here.

Do you think you will be able to ID the chick once you take them out? Maybe it looks identical to the splash marans?

This is a long shot question, but is there any chance some of the eggs were actually from your splash hen? I've heard of at least one situation where a "green" layer suddenly lays "blue", because the brown paint didn't get added on top (blue shell + brown coat = "green" to our eyes)

Also, if you had different roosters with those hens within approximately a month of collecting those eggs that you later hatched, there's a SLIGHT possibility the other rooster could have sired some.

Update…here she is all dried out. I also added a photo of the two eggs that are in this breeding pen. The one on the right is from my Splash F1OE and the one on the left is from my partridge Ameraucana.

This chick definitely did not dry out to be splash or blue. It really does look like my Lavender Orpington chicks but bigger, with muffs, and feather legs and feet🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

And go!!
