Hi all!

I need your help...I have had for a few years a 1202 Sportsman but have always hated trying to get to chicks who have jumped out of the hatching tray and gone to the VERY back.

I'm wanting to see anyones pics of a stand/rack they have made for their sportsman, as I am looking for ideas for building a stand/rack.

Pics &/or advice etc appreciated!

I have one and I found a couple of Emu baskets and my husband take a piece of hardware cloth and made me a top. I secured it with bread ties. He since made me more trays out of hardware cloth, the real small space 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch not sure the size.

Just by some 1/4" hardware cloth and make a top for the baskets that come with the Sportsman. They are very easy to make and they keep the chicks from being able to hop out.

Actually the new model Sportsman comes with a deeper hatching tray. But, it's plastic coated cardboard and you have to level the turning trays to get the hatching tray out. Smart redesign there

. We don't use it anymore and got the old style hatching tray.

What I am looking for is info on building the stand to place the incubator upon (right now mine is on the floor and man is it low when you are trying to collect chicks out of it etc).

I wondered about having some form of storage for extra egg trays etc etc as part of the incubator stand as well. May as well make it useful too!

I'm not too sure on constructing this that's why I thought I'd ask folks who have these incubators and use em regularly. Some of you are bound to have built something........

If the forum finds this subject boring those who wish to respond in more detail aremost welcome to email me directly via backyard chicken IM messenging etc.

THANKS
