Tiny flea like bugs around their eyes and face

I noticed some of my chickens have tiny brown flea like bugs on their faces. When I picked one up to take a closer look, some jumped onto me just like a flea. I did a search and most of you talk about mites or lice and use sevin dust to treat. Does this sound like what they have? Should I treat with sevin? Thanks

sounds like mites, i am really lucky so far. i hear of people using 7

Sounds like stick tight fleas. I think they get them from wild birds. The stick tights will infect cats too. I think Sevin is your best bet.

Thanks, going to do a major cleaning of the coops and yard today and dust everyone. Hope it works

Does anyone know the youngest age it can be used on safely? I have some little ones

Mites or lice. Sevin dust everything, including the chickens...then repeat in one week to kill any that hatch.

They can kill chickens because they suck so much blood over time..
