Picking up a dozen barnyard mix eggs tomorrow for our first hatch with the new brinsea incubator that's being delivered today. And February is the month for starting tomatoes indoors for spring planting, so I figured why not a tomato themed hatch-a-long. There are so many varieties and so many fun variety names! Like beefsteak, brandywine, and jelly beans just to pick a few out of my gurney's seed catalog.
I have no idea what kinds of chickens are in the flock I'm getting the hatching eggs from, so these are going to be true mystery mutts. Pick an egg, toss me a name, and join me on this hatching journey! Eggs will be set Monday, January 20 for a February 10 hatch date.
