Loving my girls
Songster
Hi, I appreciate any advice you can offer.
The weather has taken a turn here and become hot, really hot. I have always chosen my hens to be as heat tolerant as possible. Hence I have a leghorn cross. Big wattles so stays cool. This works fine, she is fine and happy however her wattles ar not coping so well. They are dry and pinky white. She desperately needs a face pack and large quantities of deeply nourishing moisturiser.
I’ve heard that coconut oil or Vaseline does the job but I’m concerned that her wattles may fry in all that oil.
Any ideas ? She’s not a shade type girl, loves a bit of sun and follows me around the garden or waits outside the door for me, in the sun
very cute but none too bright.
Advice would be appreciated
