My 1 year old dumped about 15 oz. Of dried mealworms in the brooder with 3-1 week old bantam half-silkies. And then picked some back put and ate them. :sick I have no idea how many meal worms the chicks ate, but they were gorging themselves. Are they ok?

Also, I scooped as much as I could out of the bedding. Can i now dump the bedding in the pullets run? 5 pullets. Or would that be too many mealworms?

That does seem like quite a few mealworms.....I would just keep an eye on them for a week or so. I usually would wait until 3 weeks to start giving my birds small amounts of mealworms. And yes, giving the rest of the worms to your pullets is totally fine!

Why shouldn’t they have mealworms at that age? Mine are being “momma raised” and are eating loads of bugs and worms. They also had a few mealworms with the rest of the flockers today. (It was in the forties here overnight, so they got some mealworms with breakfast. Not an everyday thing.)

They shouldn't have that many and these mealies are dried. Not the same as what momma hen would help the chicks find.
