Tractor Supply duck health??

3 years ago I bought 4 ducks from Tractor Supply. 2 Pekins and 2 Cayugas. Both Pekins passed away after 1 year. 1 turned out to be a jumbo Pekin and had major leg infection and went septic. The other got an internal infection and passed. Last week one of the Cayugas got the same type of internal infection the female Pekin had and she passed. I have 1 cayuga left. (I have 3 other female ducks that I bought from a breeder). Is there something wrong with Tractor Supply ducks that they get sick and die? I feel like I take good care of my animals. They are in a clean environment (clean as they can be for ducks). I have gotten lots of advice from other duck owners. I just don’t understand. I’ve spent way more money than I care to admit on these ducks trying everything to keep them alive.
It literally breaks my heart. Anyone else have issues with Tractor Supply ducks?? (I learned my lesson and will never purchase from them again).
I went to TSC bought a duckling that stole my heart that day along with my six pack of chicks. Fell in love with this little duck and it died in my hands less than 48 hours later in my hands. I’m still crying about it. Also imprinted on my son. So I went back to let them know I have never lost any baby animal in my life. I get two more ducks pekin. One of them is having very bad respiratory issues. I brood chicks fine, no issues. These are just not very healthy or I’m just not meant to have ducklings.

The two ducklings I got from TSC were both Rouen. They were a buck a duck since Easter was over and they were not selling ducks any longer and wanted them gone. They were both males and got very big very fast. They ended up being rehomed but were very healthy and just fine. It might depend on the time of year, temperatures where you are at, or possibly feed they are on. Mine were on Dumor 22% Duck All Life Stages. That is what I raise most of mine on. So sorry you had such a bad experience. Here it seems we get a lot of drakes from TSC and they all come from Hoover's hatchery where we are located.

The two I have are doing really good now :)

I brought them inside, gave them multiple bath/swim times with VetRx, fed duck feed with Pampered chicken mamma brewers yeast, nutridrench, Hydrohen. warm bath swimming, and limited food helped.

Niacin defficient, too fat ducklings. Too fat to breathe was issue lol. Exercise and don’t leave out a ton of chick start + duck feed. I read pekin min niacin should be closer to 55.

My two ducks are doing great! Just needed a diet, more niacin, swimming in warm bath. They were to fat. VetRX in bath. After 2 days they’re grand!
Also, my Quackers are drakes. He’s got that raspy little quack not sure about the scardy cat duckling, not recipe yet, but we shall see if there’s also a little curl they are cute, but I tell you I can’t have my gals lol.

TSC seems here to throw out a lot of drakes. I have never gotten two drakes before anywhere but the only two I bought there were both drakes. I know several other people that got only drakes from them too. At Rural King I have always gotten one of each. The new 3 week old Rouen I got from Rural King is still iffy but sounds more female than male to me. Not loud and rowdy like my boys always were and in with a Welsh Harlequin female for sure from a hatchery and sounds like her. Sweet little chatter between the two all day. Hopefully a girl.
