Hey guys I need help, I have 2 1 year old toms that I want to take to auction. They have to be in something that will go with the buyer so can't use dog kennels. Any ideas what I can use? I've seen laundry baskets used for chickens so was thinking possibly using 2 or 3 stacked on top of eachother. 3 would have the bottoms taken out of the second on so the turkey had more room to stand up. This will also be in a car XD my van is broke down

You could make transport cages from 2"x2"s and chicken wire.

How heavy are they? Do you need to be able to carry the container with the turkey inside?

Maybe see if you can find cheap dog kennels? Used, 2nd hand, on-sale, or something like that. If they would work, then you can just compare the cost with whatever else you would use, and see which comes out best in the end.

I would measure how big each turkey is, then start measuring laundry baskets to see if any would work. I've seen some that are pretty big, but I don't know whether they would be big enough. Two laundry baskets would probably be more stable than three, but that's a good point about letting the turkey stand up.

Or any other scrap lumber that seems suitable.
And the wire could be chicken wire, hardware cloth, or anything else that keeps the turkey in but (hopefully) lets buyers see the turkey. Maybe something solid for the floor.

They are about 15-20 lbs each and yes I'd have to be able to carry them in. I was thinking about making them out of hardwood too but was worried about getting it in and out of the car
