Treating ground for roundworms

Any suggestions on what to treat the ground with for roundworms? Any liquid?
This writer says one way to kill them is to "solarize" the area of concern - cover with black plastic weighted with rocks and let the sun do it, but it can take four weeks, and while the article specifically discusses using it on bare ground, it seems as though it may work on planted areas, but would also kill the plants under the plastic.

Welcome!
Most species of roundworms have eggs that are very difficult to kill, except by extraordinary methods (blow torch!). Removing the top few inches of the soil, and replacing it with new soil, or something cleanable like concrete, about covers it.
Freezing won't kill many of them either.
What type of roundworm, infesting what species, are you asking about? For poultry, only keeping the birds inside all the time, off dirt, and then fenbendazole as needed, if they do go outdoors.

This past summer cows were treated for roundworm, now poultry. I do not know what type of roundworm. Treating with Wazine 17. I have not found anything to treat the ground in winter (snow). Will probably keep grass cut low and raked and treat with Borax in warm weather. Than you.

Those roundworms are totally different species. Here in the USA cattle are often treated with Ivermectin, and chickens with fenbendazole. Both drugs are more effective than piperazine!

Thank you. Am treating with Wazine 17. Cows had it last summer, they probably got it that way as they are free range but really don't know.
