This writer says one way to kill them is to "solarize" the area of concern - cover with black plastic weighted with rocks and let the sun do it, but it can take four weeks, and while the article specifically discusses using it on bare ground, it seems as though it may work on planted areas, but would also kill the plants under the plastic.Any suggestions on what to treat the ground with for roundworms? Any liquid?
Welcome!
Most species of roundworms have eggs that are very difficult to kill, except by extraordinary methods (blow torch!). Removing the top few inches of the soil, and replacing it with new soil, or something cleanable like concrete, about covers it.
Freezing won't kill many of them either.
What type of roundworm, infesting what species, are you asking about? For poultry, only keeping the birds inside all the time, off dirt, and then fenbendazole as needed, if they do go outdoors.
