Treats for Chicks

I don't give them anything extra until they are 2-3 weeks old, but that's just me being overly cautious.

After that I have given

Oats
Yogurt
Chick scratch
Chick grit
Clumps of grass/sod from the yard (that causes the chick soccer match)
Clean Dandelions from the lawn
Greens

Commercial chicken feed is a complete balanced feed specifically designed for different ages of birds.

If you give them anything other than commercial feed and they are not free ranging, you need to sprinkle some grit on the extra food to help them break it down in their gizzard.

Feed stores sell chick grit, and you can also use parrot grit. They don't need much.
