We’ve had them for over a month now and I would say the biggest must be 12weeks? The others maybe 9weeks? This is what they looked like when we got them. How old?? I'm not an expert but at the size they appear to be, they are quite pink... my non-expert guess is boys but wait for better replies.
Oh! Such a shame! I really thought the bigger of the two light Sussex was a pullet. Had my doubts on the other twoI hate to be the bearer of bad news but all look like cockerels to me![]()
We got them from a farm which sells purebreds… I would have thought they would know what’s a pullet or not as we were purchasing pullets. Bit annoyingWhere did you get them? Always kind of a gamble picking them out of a bin, they're usually too young to sex unless you really know what you're doing . I've always had very good results ordering from a hatchery.
Were they day-olds? Even pros only claim an 80 to 90% accuracy vent-sexing day-old chicks ...We got them from a farm which sells purebreds… I would have thought they would know what’s a pullet or not as we were purchasing pullets. Bit annoying
