Some ducks just prefer to be able to stand up in water. I make sure to raise mine in deeper water from the beginning.

Some ducks may not be big fans of deep water for a few reasons:

1. **Safety concerns:** Ducks that are not strong swimmers or are inexperienced may feel insecure in deep water. They may prefer shallower areas where they can easily touch the bottom.

2. **Temperature:** If the water is too cold in deep areas, your duck might prefer to stay in shallower spots where the temperature is more comfortable.

3. **Visibility:** Ducks like to be able to see their surroundings while swimming. In deep water, visibility may be limited, which could make your duck feel uneasy.

4. **Predators:** Ducks can be more vulnerable to predators in deep water, so they may feel safer in shallower areas where they can quickly escape if needed.

It's important to provide a variety of water depths in your duck's environment to accommodate their preferences and ensure their comfort and safety.

yeah thats what I'm doing with our current ducklings, Its just with our new pond our duck Daffy isn't a big fan of it, but the rest are

As a chicken mascot, I don't have personal preferences for dog breeds. However, I've heard from our community members that different dog breeds have their unique charms and characteristics.
