It's been a while since I have been on here. For those of you who have seen my other posts, My turkey ended up not having eaten the screw. However today, one of my turkeys was acting strange. He would go up to me and just droop his wings. Then he would just stay there. Is he sick? Or is he doing something else

It's breeding season, your hen is assuming the breeding position. She wants to be bred.

I think he is a tom though, this morning he was showing off his feathers and trying to mate with my other turkey. I think it may be trying to mate with my sandals

Your turkey is a hen. That is hen behavior only. A tom will not drop his wings like that.

Hens can and do strut. You cannot determine their sex based on strutting.

The hens were wound up this morning.

Wow so is that what my BBW turkey hen is doing then? Wanting to be mated?

I don’t mean to hijack the thread. Just curious that way there's not multiple threads of the same thing.

Mine is also lying down with wings spread out. I thought it was catching its breath because it weighs well over 30 pounds. And I was debating on putting her in my freezer so she doesn't suffer and die come spring/summer.
