Placed an order with Duck Creek Farms for a pair of ducks. Was just wondering what folks' experiences are wrt turnaround time. I still have some finishing touches to make to my new duck house (including doors smh), and I want to know how long I realistically have to get them done before I have ducks waiting for me at the post office.

Thanks!!

Never heard of them before.
Not a lot of information on their website, which would be a hard pass for me, personally
Edit: looks like they ship in the fall, which it long past the chargeback deadline.
Everything is a bit hinky.

As an update to this - I didn't order for fall delivery, I ordered from the "Buy Now" section. I know others here have ordered from them before, as they're one of the only sources for Australian spotted (Metzer is offering this yr but unsexed). I did hear from them with a shipping date (next Monday), and they should arrive Weds or Thurs of next week. I will post again about arrival timing as there's very limited info outside of a few posts here.

Do you have an update? Did they arrive and how are they doing?

Ack! Thank you for reminding me about this! Ducks were shipped on a Monday, but got delayed in transit (thanks USPS!) I was super worried that they wouldn't make it, but the breeder assured me they would be okay through Thursday afternoon, and they were totally fine when I picked them up from the post office Thursday morning.

They bounced back from transit super quickly, and are doing well. Kept them quarantined for 2 weeks, no signs of illness or anything of the sort, and have started introducing them to my existing flock, which is going smoothly.

They're personable, quiet, and DISGUSTINGLY CUTE!!! Duck Creek was very responsive, which was greatly appreciated.

Adding to this for anyone who might find it helpful in the future.

We ordered a blue head pair of Australian Spotted ducks on a Sunday from the “Buy Now” section. They emailed first thing Monday, and said if I paid the shipping invoice by noon their time they would ship out that day. They arrived THE NEXT DAY and we live in PA. I was shocked at how fast and very grateful.

We’ve had them for a month now and our female just started to lay. We were told they are about a year old. She’s laid three medium chicken egg sized eggs with a very light blueish green tint. All shells have been strong and normal shaped. We’re letting her keep them for now and waiting to see if she lays more and goes broody or not! (She’s taken the last two days off of laying after laying three days in a row.)
