UK Fenton Blues and Blue Belles

Quillpen,
They look just like some of my Aruacanas I am working on. The Fenton Blues look just like Lavender Araucanas from the UK but no muffs/beards. The other, Blue Belle is a Andalusian type blue bird by the pictures they posted. Lavenders are very rare here in the US at this moment but the Ameraucana Club Members are working on them right now and having some success with them. If you are interested in the color you may want to contact John Blehm on the Ameraucana site and see if he will have any birds for sale this year. I may have some but really don't want to ship birds. I may venture to take some birds to sell this fall at the Uniontown, Pa swap meet or sale but right now I am going to take a few birds to the Roots chicken/fancy poultry sale in Manhiem, Pa or the BLoomsburg,Pa sale. Good luck with your venture. HarryS

Yes the Import laws apply to both eggs and live birds. It is a very lengthy and expensive option but it can be done. I am in the process of researching and pricing out importing some birds from another country. You have to make arrangements with a breeder and buy the birds but before doing so the birds must be tested by a vet and receive health certificates certifying that they are free of sickness. The the birds have to be shipped with a commercial airline such as Delta, crates must be purchased etc... The birds then must be met with a US customs broker to walk them thru entry into the USA where they will go to a quarantine facility. The birds have to wait there for a month and then be re-tested for sickness before they can be shipped to you! I estimate the costs to between 1 and 2 thousand dollars per bird. So it can be done but as you can see is quite and undertaking.

Edited for typos, sorry

Thanks everyone!

Oh, I wish I had the knowledge to reproduce them here or the $$ to have them shipped (if they would ship them). Just like me to want something that's hard to get a hold of.

I will try the Ameraucana Club.

Have a good day everyone!

The Fenton Blue is a cross from the Crested Cream legbar. The Crested Cream legbar has Araucana in it's line. So why not get an Araucana Americana or an Easter Egger.

I've had Araucana and have Fenton Blue Eggs in the incubator now and the eggs are very similar.

I was looking for Crested Cream Legbars but they are not common here.
Easter Eggers are not Common here either.

Good Luck
