Unexpected chicken mom

Hi all. I'm new to raising chickens in Oregon. I wasn't expecting to start this venture for a year or two, but my son had to move to Alaska and I had property so here I am. He gave me two laying hens and shortly after I inherited three more. Two were eaten by predators before I could get a coup built. Another got attacked while I was still putting up the fencing (sad sigh!!). She was my favorite.

Now all set up and I've taken on fifteen babies. What an adventure!
