Unformed egg hanging out my pullett's butt! Will she get egg yolk periontitis?

I'm so sad :-(
Carmen is not looking well this evening. Lethargic. Tail and wings drooping. She laid another soft egg shell. The other chickens ran over and started eating it! Ugh.🤢( Didn't see the yoke anywhere though. She ate and drank well today, though. I ordered the Fishmox, but I'm afraid it will take a while to get here.I'm going to drive to the local farm store tomorrow and buy liquamycin. Also spoke to the vet today and she wouldn't prescribe me antibiotics. Said if she has periontitis it wouldn't help. I'm terrified that she has perionititis. I've lost a chicken to that before and it was incredibly awful. :hit

Laying soft shelled eggs (as I've learned) can be very hard on them, maybe she's just not feeling great from that? I have 1 that lays soft shelled eggs & she mopes around for hours, tail & head down looking like she's dying. She always looks ok after though. Maybe you can try a dose calcium for her? I know it also helps them contract to push the egg as well as actually form the shell. Mine gets a half a human calcium citrate pill a day till she has normal eggs. I know some give tums too if that's what they have.

Hoping she'll be ok!

Oh I really like to believe that it will be better and that a calcium supplement will help! I appreciate the advice!!!🙏🙏🙏 She does seem to be better this afternoon. Thank you! 💞
