We had the traumatic hatch today. Full on unabsorbed yoke weak chick.
Now it's been several hours. Unfortunately it ruptured mess before I got him in cup so he ran in circles with all this everywhere he's dragging something. He's wet a mess and I want to clean it up. BUT is that what is best for the yoke area? He's alone in incubator. He's still alive and I don't know what to expect. Do I leave him warm and humid or do I clean up and apply ointment? It's a huge mess splatter all over he's soaked still. Or sticky?
Will he need to eat since there was so much unabsorbed yoke? Hallp please 😫 he gets up falls over but he hasn't died so I feel like next decisions should be made? Feeding cleaning etc

Is this the only chick in there? The incubator is a good place for it to sleep it off. But does it seem stuck to all that stuff on the bottom of the incubator?

If you feel brave enough, I would take the chick out, have someone hold it in a warm cloth and quickly clean up the incubator and put it back.

He's alone it was a few eggs out of our lost rooster. This one was the only one that took. He's chirping like crazy right now. I have the room dim and quiet as been all day. He is just unsteady not stuck. I tried to get pics of what's hanging off him. I'm confused about hernia. Really confused how long he can go with food n water if he lost big yoke.
Attaching hatch pic with yoke😔

oh. I didn't see that in the first pic. That chick is in pretty rough shape.

Is that yolk or is that internals of the chick? I have not personally encountered this before.

It's yoke. It's busted hence the mess. So he hasn't absorbed a lot. This is why I need to know if I should try to feed him or how long to wait and leave him in there. He hatched early but day 22 something obvious went wrong but he's not dieing yet so I need to figure what to do
