This is him the day we brought him home:

And this is him begging for his dinner a little too early in the day.

He has turned out to be one of the best rescues ever!!! He is now 8 months old and the biggest goofball on the planet. He is extremely friendly with people, but don't let another animal try to come into our back yard.

He was not just skinny, he was extremely malnourished. But he has good structure and we both love GSD's so we gave it a chance. He has worked out beautifully here!!!!

I did see it, and really appreciate the work that goes into a dog in that condition.

He is not only lacking body fat but muscle as well, malnurished is correct. His body has used nearly all muscle and fat reserves to keep going -- so so very sad -- that is until he came to you

Tugs at my heart a lot:ya

Great job with him. He is so lucky you got him.

Many years ago I saw a dobie grump that was skin tightly stretched over bones. As bad a case I've seen and the dog still alive. Because of where she was at I couldn't help but see her several times.
I made a "midnight run" one night and brought her home.It was a long recovery. She had the highest metabolisms I've seen. It took a lot of food but she was a beauty too when I got her straightened out.

Even his coloring looks different to me....maybe the camera or lighting. He still has a ways to go but is a million times better. Great work!
