Update! Had to readjust the bra due to it being too big for her! Yay!

She's starting to run from me and wander around the run. All signs point to yay!

After a week of monistat and others, HeadHen doesn't feel as doughy. And her crop isn't a huge. Still pendulum with bra(still playing with design as her crop has shrank since I posted this thread). But she's moving around, running from me, and all around acting so much better.

Not sure what helped this round, be the Nutridrench or Senokot(only used three days to help move along. She hasn't laid since Oct so I honestly wasn't too worried about the laxative issue I've read about with contractions and eggs). But whatever it is, she's on the mend. Regardless if she ever lays an egg again or not, she'll be with us until she passes. Even if I have to give her eggs with coconut oil, probiotics and Nutridrench daily.

While HeadHen is doing tons better, checked on her today and she feels doughy/kneady. I had started the ACS the day before yesterday but we had some super heavy rains and damage and while we got to visit with them I was tired from cleaning to give her another dose.

She keeps moving around, looking brighter, so we are still good for now.

Even with her crop feeling doughy, she is definitely feeling better. I went to get her yesterday for her meds and she ran! Lol

She's been eating on her own. I did decide to give more monistat. And she's been pooping, I think normal-ish. And she's been talkative.

We are hoping to get her more mobile so she can get in the coop on her own. She's been sleeping underneath. Come winter that won't work. We have a ladder but she's not been climbing it. But with her bra I think she feels hindered. But without it her crop hangs and drags.

*Poop photos!

I have a chicken with similar issues. Hers are not as extreme, but she will get an impacted crop, and a saggy food boob if I don't monitor her diet. I wasn't comfortable with the suggestions I found online, soI took her to the chicken vet. She gave me Vetoquinol Laxatone Gel Hairball Control Supplement for Cats (2cc/ml 2 x day for 5 days). It's basically mineral oil.
You seem to be on top of it, but I wanted to throw it out there, since I've never seen it suggested before.

That is a different suggestion, much like I think I'd only seen the Senokot suggested once--due to the laxative in it---which I get the precautions to use on a normal laying hen (if Ive read everything right lol)

I wonder what else that has in it to help. Much like using coconut oil? Either in frozen chunks or added to scramble eggs.

Hope you're girl gets over her issues

Eta: and the food boob made me chuckle! Lol

Mineral oil as far as I know. It's a thick gel, vs most oils. It doesn't really thin out like coconut oil does when warmed.

I had just never seen it suggested before, other than my vet. My hen's issues are milder than yours, though. I imagine the bras are pretty helpful, and seem to be really working for your girl.

HeadHen is still chugging along, although we have had to remove the bra crop and she's super swollen because of it. Have started the monistat and ACS again, have her sectioned off in the run and she barely moves. I'm gonna try calling the vet for a stronger fungal/yeast medicine come Mon after a weekend doing the ACS.
