Hello.
I have a 1 year 3 month old Cayuga Hen. Since April (it's almost July now), she has been ruffling her feathers, hunching her neck, and quacking excessively every time she sees or even just hears us in the yard. In the last 2 weeks, her eggshells have gotten gray (which is exciting), but they are getting smaller as they get darker gray. They are half the size of our other Cayuga's eggs (which have never been gray). Her yolks have also gone from a beautiful orange to an incredibly pale pale yellow with almost a greenish tinge. Does anyone have any clue what's happening? Should I get farm vet out to check her?

Thanks.

My two eldest laying hens act the exact same way, and have acted that way for months now. It’s definitely broody-like.

I can’t explain the eggs.
