Hello all,
First year with a duck pond and got the green water issue. Reading online a lot about people using a UV light to sterilize the water and prevent algae from turning the water green. My pond is in full sun(bad I know) and I got about 8-10 ducks. The pond is about 1500 gallons and has a max depth of 30". My pond is set up like a wastewater treatment plant that has a settling tank with a pump located up high in the tank pumping the cleaner water over to filter. Water rises out of the filter tank into a creek that leads back to the pond. We have tried algaecide, barley bails, and extract, and water clarifier. Has anyone ever tried to use a UV light on their pond that contains ducks? Their not the cheapest item so trying to figure out if it will even work.
Thanks in advance!
