Valbazen for treating tape worms

For tapeworm you would be better off getting some praziquantel and treating with that. Valbazen can do SOME types of tapes, but not all. You can get praziquantel in Equimax horse paste or Zimectrin Gold. Equimax is more cost effective, but either will work. Dosing is here in post #6.
For the zimectrin gold paste could you share directions in step by step. And if your whole flock of 18 shares everything would I treat all or just the ones I know have obvious tapeworms?
I'm new to chickens. They're about 9mo old and most are 4lbs, I have 3 that are 5ish lbs.

Insects are the vector for tapeworm infections in chickens. It's necessary to treat ONLY the chickens that are tapeworm infected, tapeworm segments in feces are the telltale sign that a bird has tapeworms.
It's best to worm your tapeworm infected birds early in the morning in the dark. It'll be easier to snatch them off the roost and worm them with the Z-Gold.
The worms will be weak because your birds havnt eaten since the day before and the wormer will be more effective eliminating them. After worming the infected birds, wait a few hours before feeding them. This will give time for the wormer to do its job effectively eliminating the worms.
Keep an eye on the birds you dosed if you can, you might see broken pieces of tapeworm or jellyfish like tentacles excreted in feces within an hour of administering the wormer.

I've dealt with tapeworms many times and it's tough controlling insects, not knowing if they are infected or not. Chickens eat insects, that's what they do.
Here's a link with the dosage by weight for Zimecterin Gold equine paste. You can dose the 4lb birds at the 5lb dose, no problem. See post #16:
