I have a chicken that I think may have a vitamin deficiency. She falls down when she walks and her balance is not good at all. I started her on a B complex yesterday. Do I give it once a day? Can I also give rooster booster poultry cell with it. How long until improvement?

B complex dosage is 1/4 to 1/2 tablet a day, giving orally or crushed into a small amount of food. Any excess is excreted through the kidneys, so hard to overdose. Poultry Cell is okay for several days, but could cause loose poops after that. Read the label on the poultry cell, as it contains a lot of the same vitamins as B complex. B complex is better and has larger amounts of B’s. Is she eating and drinking, and able to get to food and water? Watch to see that the others don’t go after her, since she is acting different. Sometimes we need to separate them in a dog crate or pen with food and water within reach.

How old is she and how long has this been going on? Could she have been injured by a rooster or hen? Is she molting?

She is in a dog crate when I’m not around to watch them. She is eating and drinking fine. We do not have a rooster. I don’t think any of the hens would have hurt her except maybe push her off the roost, they tend to do that sometimes with each other. She along with 6 other ones are 6 months old. She is not molting at the moment.
