Walmart prices higher than others

I only buy their generic drink mix and gummie vitamin C and some toiletries... Other that that.... NOPE!!!! to rich for my blood

Did you know that 10% of all the crap exported from china goes to walmart? I don't spend my money at a corporation that posts signs in there break rooms showing employees how to get on food stamps and welfare. I'm not saying some people don't deserve it, many people in our country work hard and still can't make ends meet. I know these federal programs help people but when a company openly encourages their employees to suck off the government teet, no one should buy there products.

I can't convince anyone around here that WM is more expensive than the local grocery stores!

Last week we went to local store and spent $124.00, we got enough food to last us right at 3 weeks, except for milk.
If I spent that at WM, I have maybe 3 bags of food, and it doesn't last a week!

And the price matching is a joke!!! I took an ad that said "assorted family pack pork chops" (no brand mentioned), WM wouldn't honor it because it didn't state the brand WM carries.
It didn't state the brand the grocery store carried either, but they honored it!

When Ol' Sam was around, WM was a good place. Not now.

And the things bigstack said is true. WM bully's manufacturers unmerciful. I used to work for a manufacturer that sold to WM. Not only do they do the things bigstack said, but they change their packaging and shipping requirements so often that if the shipper doesn't read the new manuals before every shipment and change things to be in appliance, then WM charges the manufacturer for improper packaging and or shipping requirements. If they are not extremely careful, it can cost the manufacturer more money than the shipment is worth to ship to WM.
They have to have a certain type of shipping label, with the UPC code in a specific place on the label, use a WM approved machine to print the labels, the label has to be placed a specific place on each carton, and if it is not placed exactly where WM wants it...
CHARGE-BACK!!!
The only reason for this is MONEY, because shippers ship to Distribution Centers, who then re-label every box and then WM ships it to their stores.

WM pays a company to look for shipping infractions, so they can pay less for the merchandise than they already do.

WM won't make pick up appointments at the shippers either. When their trucks pull in, they expect you to drop everything and load their trucks. If the truck sits for 30 minutes waiting to be loaded...guess what...CHARGE-BACK!!!
I used to load 20+ trucks a day out of a warehouse with only 3 loading docks. (I didn't personally load every one, I had a crew) When a truck showed up without an appointment, it was a nightmare! Everything had to be extremely well-planned and organized to make this happen with such limited space, so WM was a real pain to deal with.

So I don't shop at WM unless I have to, because of the prices and poor quality. DH & his family thinks it's a great place, so I am always fighting that battle.

WOW...I guess this post really set me off!!!

Sorry to rant for so long.

Here is a tip to finding the cheapest milk in town. Look at the gas stations around town. We have one close to where hubby work that he stops at on the way home it is a Citco. They are selling milk for 2 gallons of $5. Our local BP most of the time is cheaper than the local Ingles too. Have yet to check the Express mart that just opened.

I am lucky the walmart for us is all away on the other side of town. I too am shocked to see what some people buy and it makes no differance if it is there or the local food store. Whole cart filled with soda and chips with some bread and maybe something frozen. These people wonder why there doctor bills are so high. Hmmmm

I could from scratch most of the time. You will not find box mac and cheese in my cart that stuff is gross. It is too easy to make it fresh. No box potatoes either and soda is bought like once a month. Heck I even make my own dog food though she does get dry mixed with it. We buy our dog and cat food at the feed store cheaper than TSC and we are supporting a local store instead of a big corp.

OMG I'm so glad I'm not the only one that thought Walmart stopped carrying stuff you'd buy regularly! What's up with that???

They do it at mine too and it's a constant thing, they stopped selling the organic veggies i was buying and a long list of other things too.

They never restock the selves either you get it then or never at all

I love Publix , so much more nicer , but they are only in the Florida and surrounding states. THe milk is that expensive ? I used to buy a gallon for 2$ back in Ohio or even less.

Hmm.. The Super Walmart near here (28 miles away round trip) is usually quite a bit cheaper than the other 'big' grocery stores (Meijer, Kroger, Jewel) which are an even further drive for me. So I do buy a lot of stuff from them.

The IGA store has some good meat sales every now and then and their meat, while still not great, is a lot better than the stuff walmart carries.
