Wanted - Button Quail

Are you familiar with buttons???? They are really small and relatively skittish compared to coturnix. If you are new to quail and looking for a good “pet” coturnix would be your better option.
I am not familiar with buttons. I am new to quail and I do want a good pet quail. How much space do corturnix need inside?

Coturnix should be housed in a ratio of one male to 3 - 5 females. If you can’t keep that many, you should keep just 2-3 females. The general rule is you would want to provide 1-2 sq feet of space per bird. I have a small indoor group that I keep in a 50 gallon bin cage.

Is a trio fine?

Do you have pictures of your indoor coturnix setup? :)
Thanks

there are 2 blind birds so I don’t have hides or else they walk into them. For normal birds you want hides, they have a sandbox that’s in the dishwasher right now, it’s just an old dish soap pod tub with one side cut out, for normal birds you can make a bird sized door, but my blind ones need a big doorway so I removed an entire side

Aww, they are adorable and I love the setup! Also, can you only have more than 1 quail? Also, are pairs bad? Thanks!
They need companionship, they are very sad and lonely with just one. A m/f pair will often result in the female getting injured from overmating. You can keep button in m/f pairs tho, it’s what they prefer, but not Coturnix.

If you are only interested in pets/eggs you could consider getting hens only. That way, you could keep a minimum of 2 or as many as you have room for without worry about crowing, overbreeding etc. myshire farms ships live quail approximately 3-5 weeks old and I believe there’s 1 place that does ship chicks. You would also have a better chance of finding coturnix locally. They need approximately 1 sq ft per bird. You could easily keep 2-3 in a small animal/rabbit cage or converted tote indoors with probably easier clean-up than rabbits, guinea pigs etc.
