Hi, my name is Mindy (55) and hubby is Phil (58). We have gotten the opportunity to be able to get back into having chickens. We just ordered our first set of chicks in a very long time. (bantams clean/feathered leg type) I was a member back in 2008 for about 4 years, but life got in the way. truth be told my first time back then ordering chicks came from a member on this board she sold Buff op. some of the nicest and big birds. I hope she is still a member her home state was Pennsylvania.

Hello Mindy and Phil, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

I have only 2 bantams in my flock and they spend most of their spring, summer and well into the fall being broody. How do you cope?
not sure as it has been a long time. i did dunk (late spring or summer only) mine in cool water in buckets but not ice-cold water for about 15-20 minutes most times this has worked. the few times it did not work we had chicks . lol not a bad thing.
