I am very sorry to hear you lost any to a coyote.. it says your in Lakewood are in the country
out of town bit? more predators out of town a bit

We are like very south Lakewood, our back yard is training area 7n! They are doing predator control this week, so hopefully it gets better.

Have you had her since she was a chick? I'm still waiting for my "lap" chicken! LOL

No actually! We've only had her for maybe two months. But I have two young kids so she has gotten used to handling pretty fast
She came from a woman who had to move unexpectedly. She had a second that came with her, but we lost her a week ago in the middle of the dang day! Working on a better coop system so we don't lose any more.

that makes allot more sense and hope your right... We are fortunate to live with
3 big dogs 2 small and 3 outside cats so predators are not wanting to visit

Oh nice! We are hoping to build up our farm so we aren't having as many issues. We just moved here just under a year ago so it's a learning curve and a half!

I'm super new to the chicken raising thing!
Our coop is made out of a crib! And I'm extending it with 2 more cribs as soon as I have time.
We are extremely budgeted on what we can do, but any advice or help on what we can do is great and super appreciated!
So excited to be a part of this awesome community

So very cute!

Thanks so much! We gave two of them to our hen Saturday night and just gave her the other two tonight since she was still setting on two eggs as well. She's so accepting!
I'm really new to chickens and I'm really invested. Hoping to find a lot of help and advice here
