Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

That's good news. We had ours tested last year. It was a lot more expensive!!! But they came out and collected water directly from the well and then after our filtering system directly from the refrigerator. At the time I thought there might be a problem with it, but no problems at all here either. That's peace of mind.

Finally got our new insulated garage doors installed. The other ones are close to 40 years old, wooden, noisy and difficult to open. Now we can barely hear them operate.
On the chicken front, I have a pullet who is going through a neck and partial molt at 9 months. She also has a bumble on the top of her webbing that I need to operate on, but with her molting going on don't want to mess with her until molt is done. At least she isn't limping at all. Not affecting her in the least, I can tell by how fast she eludes me.
Been pretty cold, in the 30's, at least no snow yet. Sun is out for this afternoon.
Kind of strange that the grass in the run is brown, and the lawn is green. Opposite from summer. The girls got some kale today, since there is little grass.

I've been giving mine cabbage. They love it! Last week I baked an acorn squash for them and will probably do it again in a couple days.

New bedroom furniture is in for the most part, but not completely assembled. Still need the mirror attached to the dresser. Couldn't get the dresser drawers open because of a locking mechanism that malfunctioned slightly. That's fixed and we found the instructions for assembling the bed inside. Of course it was already assembled by then. Now we can start putting things away. Looking forward to getting order back around here. I feel like we've been moving. But at the moment I'm cooking a ton of Italian beef, so no time for unpacking boxes today.

I had a hatch along, but decided to order chicks also incase of a low hatch. I ordered on Mon. 2nd, and they came Thurs. the 5th. They sat in OH for Monday and Tues., and then all day Wed. in Spokane and Wenatchee. Finally getting to me on Thurs. but to late with no heat, I even asked for a heat pack, but the guy on the phone said that was up to the person packing for shipping. The box was quiet. I got home, and they were all dead still limp. But I put them into an incubator I had heated up just for them ahead of time. I let them warm up They stayed dead, but one did sit up. I gave her warm egg yolk water. Soon she was moving about and I could put her with my 13 new hatched toy story hatch baby chicks.

That is heartbreaking!!! But what a great story Lazarina has. :love

The girls were almost out of food so I bought a new bag of Payback layer pellets, their favorite.

That is, except for the mouse I caught last night and gave them this morning. I think they'd be totally satisfied eating just mice. Plenty of protein and calcium, but they'd need some carbs on the side. LOL

Made a trip down south to Freddy's and scored on a bunch of grocery deals.

Good morning,
I have both wood stoves going, Coffee ready. I have some NutPod peppermint mocha creamer, I only add a tough it my coffee with 1/2 & 1/2 otherwise its to sweet, but just a splash is nice.
I looked at Accuweather , the snow is 🌨️❄️coming, ❄️🌨️ but the prediction keeps changing, so I say ready or not it WILL happen and I thing sooner than Accu says.

I don't see snow days until later in January on that calendar. I can deal with January snow. I like getting a little of it. We don't usually get too much in our area.
