Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I have about a week's worth of starter feed left for the chicks so I bought a 50# bag of Purina Flock Raiser crumbles. It's suitable for all types of birds, even chicks. I'll need to keep plenty of oyster shell available on the side for the one or two girls that are still laying. The 20% protein in the Purina might help the girls start laying better, I'm hoping.

I feed everyone Flockraiser. Pen with the chicks has crumble

I have barnyard mix, dark brahma, and I just got 4 speckled sussex pullets. :)
I have a few breeds. Buff Orpingtons, my favorite, Australorps, my second favorite, one Leghorn, not so much my favorite because of the short life span (😢 ), Lavender Orpingtons and some mixes coming from the Australorps and Buff Orpingtons.

I guess you could say I'm into the big fluffy Orpingtons. 😁

The chicks are around 5 weeks, more or less. I just finished putting up a new roost bar for the chicks, a dead 2" tree branch covered with a thick layer of moss. It took them about 10 minutes to get on it, and it seems like they like it. It's about 2 feet high.
I give my chicks a roost from the get go. As they grow I raise it bit by bit. I did lower the outdoor roost so when I get my new chicks they can jump up with out a 2X4 ladder.
