Watch out for yellow jackets!

I threw a ball for my Rottweiler in our field and she came back with yellow jackets on her back I freaked out and started to wipe the off her with my hand pretty soon it was every man for himself! We ran for the house slammed the sliding glass door shut behind us and bees where bouncing off it! Mean buggers, I was stung several times.

My hand is still swollen and itchy. Yellow jackets sting many times, unlike a bee that loses it's stinger, and they hurt more too. The hen's face is still a tad swollen, but she's back to her old self. Children's Benadryl will be in my cabinet from now on. I thought I might lose her that day.

A few years ago my husband ran over a nest in the ground cutting brush on the tractor, and was chased all the way back to the house.  We pulled out 50 stingers or found the stings all over him.  Then we went to the ER.

We always keep a can of starting fluid on our equipment to light if you get in a nest. Still need to get out off their but gives you some defense and less likely to get stung.

Yes sir, we use it too.
An old timer taught me that when I was alot younger. He was highly allergic to bee stings and logged for a living.
