Water treatment - Chlorine Dioxide

I think I follow him on Telegram too!! I spray the solution- diluted onto cuts, bites and poison ivy and it works wonderfully!
Eggstaticmom- I’m late to the game commenting on your Chlorine Dioxide water treatment question, but I’ve used it since we first brought home chickens and had great success. This year we have around 30 chickens + a goose and while I’m still fairly new (this is our second year) to having chickens, I can say that we have never lost one to sickness or disease.

I buy the components from https://kvlab.com/chlorine-dioxide-products/
and mix it when I refill water. We were doing a 5 gallon bucket with a smaller flock, but have increased to a 27 gallon tank that we probably only fill to 22-25 gallons. We never have a problem with biofilm or slime in the tank- in fact I use it in a much higher amt in the goose’s pool just to keep it from getting too gross. There are a lot of commercial poultry, or livestock articles on the benefits of health related to its use. I’d highly encourage it!

I’ve used the same bottles of chemicals for almost 2 yrs… just bought new and it was around $250 for the largest bottles (32 oz), but there are certainly smaller versions available. It’s mixed in a 1:1 format and I’ve titrated them up to 3mL of each per 5 gallons of water, so at 960 mL in a 32 oz bottle, that would get you 320 treatments for a 5 gallon bucket, or more if you use less. There are a lot of videos out there, but it does give off a gas when mixed, so definitely do it in a well ventilated area.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Here’s a pic of the newest bottles I recently purchased from them.

I was curious what methods of water purification you use - I have been reading about Chlorine Dioxide (water purification kit) used in drinking water for pets but have not heard about chickens - I actually started using the gas residue from the chlorine dioxide as a detox and it seems to be beneficial- adding a little to my drinking water - anyone used this before to reduce algae in Chickens water
Yes, I've used a bit since my chicks were a few days old. Seems to work well. Got the idea from Mike Adams at Natural News. I've since seen some pages online from commercial hatcheries that use it and its apparently big there. I'm using about 4 drops each of the 2 chems to a gallon of water. Also I started my chicks on filtered rainwater that I collect and all that seems to be doing good. If you get the tablets to make ClO2 from Safrax, he gives you a formula to calculate the PPM. I'm not doing that yet. I just make mine from sodium chlorite and HCL acid. Very weak solution

Yes, listened to Mike Adams interviewing the founder of Safrax.com who make tablets to make ClO2. Amazing what it can kill, like ebola, MERSA, etc. I'm glad I found out about it. Also, Dr Lee Merritt highly endorses its use. They say its called the universal anti-dote.

I have not but I drink chlorine dioxide for a week a few times a year. It is a wonderful detox & kills virtually everything known to man. I currently have a chicken sick & cannot figure out what is and am trying to find a water dose for her. Great ask.

I drink CDS water for health & longevity when my schedule allows. I also put maybe 4 drops of concentrate in my chickens water. Just now! I have one that has been sneezing/ wheezing on & off since Oct. I know it can't hurt! I don't drink my county water so after seeing this, I thought I don't want them drinking it either. CDS kills everything known to man in water. It can't hurt!
