My rooster jumped into my horses trough. Sprayed water everywhere when I tried to save it! GRRRR. Silly silkie roo.

Does anybody else's roo do this? Ferdy and Stan (father and son) have a little fight through the bars of their respective overnight lodgings every morning before I let them loose for the day. It seems to work out any frustrations before they spend the rest of the day looking after the girls together. It's Ferdy's fighting style that makes me chuckle. When he faces off with Stan, he does a cute little twirl then a sort of Chuck Norris-esque roundhouse kick. Not once, but for the entirety of the sparring session. I've just never known a roo with such a peculiar, ineffective style.

Yes, a couple of my roos do that. Not every morning though. But they will have a session every day. Staring each other down and circling every once and a while, and then it randomly ends.

Oh, I'm so relieved Ferdy isn't the only crazy chook in the coop!

My DH said the other week how silly it was turning his back on his opponent but I noticed yesterday Ferdy maintains eye contact with Stan even while pirouetting. It's quite extraordinary to watch, I swear his head is at a 180° to his body throughout the twirl.

They normally stop sparring when Ferdy gets bored and wanders off. Stan would go at it all day, just like his grandad.
