I can't find this anywhere but several months v ago we ordered a group of polish hens.... including a white one that is now clearly a white splash. We purchased them from Hoover and they don't carry splash but they did carry "white" at the time. What would be her parentage to be the white splash?? We thought for a while she was going to be dominant white and after molting she's got spots. 🤔

There isn't a variety known as white splash.
Seems you're aware there's dominant white and recessive white. Both would make a splash bird completely white.
A pic would help but maybe it's just a splash. Blue breeding produces blue, black and splash chicks. Some hatcheries list birds as blue but in those orders you can get either blue, black or splash chicks even if they're not listed that way or sometimes it's listed in fine print.

That's the thing. Hoover doesn't sell splash polish. She's supposed to be white. We're trying to figure that out. They're not selling white polish this year so I can't find much info.

I'm not as knowledgeable as many here are when it comes to genetics, but couldn't it be dominant white with black leakage.
I don't know. I'd think recessive white might have leakage. We had a rooster gifted to us about 10 years ago and he has a single black feather on his wing and otherwise he's all white. My pullet has many gray spots. She looks like a splash but Hoover doesn't sell splash, she's supposed to be white. I'd try to get a pic but she's very skittish and hard to catch.

They sell white crested blue polish though. I'd bet if you checked into those you find if you order a white crested blue that you could get a white crested black, white crested blue or white crested splash.
I'd say that's what you have. A white crested splash

I know this is a secondary reply but down thread a user mentioned it might be recessive white with leakage?? I don't know that much about breeding for color in polish or silkies. We have a 10 year old White Polish roo with a single black wing feather but we just thought it was a fluke. He was gifted to my mom so I'm not sure where he came from.

We actually have white crested blue. Is it possible to breed the white crested blue with a white crested white and end up with splash?? Our pullet order was 5 blue, 3 buff laced, 3 gold lace and 4 white capped black.

Recessive white wouldn't have leakage.
RW stops every and all colors from showing up. Sure you might get a fluck with one colored feather like your prior rooster but you're describing your current bird as having many gray spots. That not something that happens with RW.
It is exactly what happens with splash birds. One blue gene dilutes black to blue. Two blue genes dilutes black to blue then dilutes blue one more time.
The white looking areas are were the color is almost diluted to nonexistent. The gray spots are were it was diluted to blue and then again but maintained a bit of color.
To blue can produce splash. There isn't a white crested white so....
Breed that pullet to a white crested blue male and I'd bet you get some white crested blue chicks and also more chicks like that pullet.
