I have 5 Starlight Green Egger hens, and while I feel like there isn’t too much information about them, here is what I absolutely love about them as a first time chicken owner.
- I have never had aggression come from these chickens. Not even my rooster (who went to a farm). I’ve never felt like they were going to come after me or hurt me.
- They really are friendly and playful birds despite some of their genetics. Mine love to come and cuddle with me, but also enjoy doing their own thing when they free range.
- Maybe this is an overall chicken thing, but I love their flock unity. I had an injured flock member some weeks ago, and when I let them outside to forage, they didn’t leave her side. They refused to go and play just because she was injured (she’s okay now!).
- They’re so fun to watch. They’re very active and playful birds and are just total busybodies. It’s all fun until they go into my neighbors yard…
- I love their plumage and variety in each one. They all have different body builds, feather varieties, and are just absolutely stunning in my opinion with how many colors are just in one coat. Maybe I’m just some crazy chicken mama, but my girls are absolutely stunning to me.

I knew that if I ever got chickens it'd be easter eggers. Sure enough I got easter eggers (including a variety of easter egger called lakeside eggers) and I love them! They're friendly, alert, docile without being pushovers and chickens with beards are too stinking cute! You also never know what you're going to get in terms of plumage or egg color so it makes waiting for chicks to feather out and eventually lay eggs even more exciting!

I only have one buff orpington, Juniper, but she is every bit as sweet as I have heard the breed is! She and one of my easter eggers, Ginkgo, are good friends and are my friendliest birds!

I am the same, I love all the hens I have. Each has her own personality.

Bantam will be the breed from now as I am older and it is easier for me to manage and care for them. I gave my Japanese bantam a bath yesterday and it was quite easy to just hold her all in my palm. The bath was in a 2L ice cream tub, that was still too big for her.
