What are these white dots?

Hello byc! One of my sweet potato plants started having these weird white egg like thing? I can’t get a picture right now, but I will as soon as possible. Is there a way I can treat this? Prevent it? Thanks!

You use diatomaceous earth to put on some of the leaves hopefully that’ll kill whatever’s on it.
