A friend gave me this hen a few years ago. She's probably about 5 years old. She's my favorite of the flock, Very cute personality and friendly. Lays small white eggs. I would like to get a couple more of her breed but I've searched all over the internet and can't find a similar photo to help ID.

Thanks!

Is that a Spur or a fifth toe? It's a Penedesenca.

You know, I never noticed that "spur". Odd, I didn't think hens could develop spurs. She's not aggressive and never tried to use it! (unlike my Leghorn Roosters which attack me when I wear my red baseball cap)

Penedesenca lay brown eggs, the OP says this hen lays white eggs.

She almost looks like a Silver Grey Dorking, but is lacking the fifth toe.

I'd rule out cream legbar based on the bird's age--not sure when legbars were imported but if they were here 5 years ago they weren't given away. Plus, I don't see any barring.

She looks like some game bird from her shape, that doesn't explain the white lobes and eggs.....

How about a silver Phoenix? Image from Cackle hatchery....

Legs look yellow and she has white earlobes so I am going with a silver leghorn. I know the silvers from McMurray hatchery lay small white eggs and were a dainty little birdie, but don't have the "leghorn-esque" floppy comb(neither do their red or buff leghorns for the most part).
