When you say the chicks were bought off line, were they from a commercial hatchery or a private seller?

He looks like an orpington or cochin mix, possibly mixed with barred rock.

Yes his legs are bright yellow and red underneath. I've never seen one like him before

Private breeder. But when my cousin told her he was in the box she said to just keep him because he obviously wouldn't survive a shipment by himself and she said he was an Easter egger but he looked like a barred rock when I first received him. She hatched her own chickens and just let multiple breeds run together apparently.

Now this is where it gets interesting my cousin liked my rooster so much she asked if she had anymore and she sent her a rooster with a few hens and he is different than mine and has slate colored feet. When asked what breed he was she said she had no idea. Then sent her a pictures of mine and she had no idea as she's never seen one like mine.

Looks like a Barred Rock mix with a Orpington.
He could be an outcome of Sex-linked chicks.

Agreed. Looks like a "sex link" with orpington body. Ask breeder if he had a buff orpington rooster with barred rock hens.
