I have read in one of my chicken books that Wyandottes lay white eggs, and then someone on BYC who actually has Wyandottes says that they lay brown eggs. Do they lay white or brown? I have two, gold and silver laced, about nineteen weeks so i want to be able to tell their eggs apart, and i would also love some white egg laying hens, since my white egger Dutch Bantam lays eight eggs every three months and goes broody, no to mention her eggs are very small. some white eggs would complete the basket of colors i have. Also, does anyone know if Wyandottes go broody? I read in that same book that they are very prone to go broody, and that is the last thing need. I can hardly keep up with one broody!

My gold laced wy lays a very light brown almost cream colored egg.

ETA: i guess one c ould describe mine as pinkish too?
See my avatar...the two pinkish looking ones in the middle are from a W.

So i guess with everyone it is different. I'll just wait and see then. Thanks for your help!

Everyone describes colors differently, it's kinda hard to describe.
But they are not white.

Okay, so not white. thats a disapointment! I was so hoping for white. Anyway, can't wait until they start laying! Anyone know about Wyandotte broodiness?

Nope not white.
Sorry...
Guess you are going to have to get a new white layer?
Or two!
