Hello!
I am trying to determine what color my Silkies chicks will grow up to be. We have separated our flocks, whites & non-whites.
Flock 1:
Red partridge rooster, black Silkie hen. A beautiful pullet cross of a Red Partridge Silkie x Golden lace Japanese Batam (we lost her mom last monsoon). A cockerel cross of the same lineage.
Flock 2:
1 M & 2F White Silkies.
We hatched 5 eggs of Flock 1 under our white Betty hen. We were able to hatch 2 successfully.
We also put 10 eggs (Combined of flocks 1 & 2) in an incubator. 4 were successfully hatched, but one died (white one, couldn’t stand up properly). Trying to determine the colors of the chicks/youngins.
Picture 1: 2 chicks we hatched under our broody white Silkie hen
Picture 2: Flock 1
Picture 3 & 4: What we hatched in the incubator. 2 are white Silkies. It’s been a week, we lost one. The other still can’t stand up without her legs spread out. The non-whites are perfectly healthy. The non-whites have the same lineage as the chicks in picture 1.
Bonus: Pictures 5 &6 Saw a video posted on a group, these are up for sale. Never seen coloring like there before. What color do you reckon they are?
